Vibrations and re-radiated noise in buildings generated by surface high-speed train traffic

چکیده
This paper deals with the numerical computation of the structural and acoustic response of a building to an incoming wave field generated by high-speed railway traffic at grade. The source model consists of the model of a moving vehicle on a longitudinally invariant domain coupled to a boundary element model of the underlying ground. The receiver model is based on a substructuring formulation and consists of a boundary element model of the soil and a finite element model of the structure. The acoustic response of the building’s rooms is computed by means of a standard boundary element formulation. The paper investigates the structural and acoustic response of a multi-story portal frame office building up to a frequency limit of 200 Hz. Keywords—Traffic induced vibrations, vibration propagation, soil-structure interaction, re-radiated noise

Calculation of re-radiated noise in buildings, generated by underground rail traffic
The vibration generated by railway traffic causes complaints not only about sensible vibration levels, but about significant noise levels in the building lying beside or above rail lines. Therefore numerical methods to predict the effect of train passbys are very important to possess and to develop. This paper presents a new numerical prediction method based on the Rayleigh radiation integral w...
متن کاملAnalysis of Structural Vibrations due to Passage of Underground Trains
During the last decades, the railway traffic in densely populated areas has increased. At the same time, passenger trains have become faster and freight trains have become heavier. Consequently, trains are an increasing source of ground vibration, which may be a nuisance to people, buildings and sensitive equipment. In this research, a two-dimensional dynamic system, including underground train...
متن کاملEffect of Rail Corrugation on the Amount of Train Induced Vibrations near a Historical Building
The evaluation and control of the trains induced vibrations needs even more attention in the case of underground tracks which passes near to monuments and historical sites. The rail corrugations which occur due to the wheels’ impulse loads during the operation period of underground railway tracks, usually amplify the ground borne noise and vibration. In the current study, the mentioned phenomen...
متن کاملA numerical model for ground-borne vibrations and re- radiated noise in buildings from underground railways
An efficient and modular numerical prediction model is presented to predict vibrations and re-radiated noise in buildings due to metro trains. The approach comprises of three weakly coupled problems: the dynamic vehicle-track-tunnel-soil interaction problem, the dynamic soil-structure interaction problem and the calculation of the acoustic response inside the rooms. The three-dimensional dynami...
